We call this Energy System Development.
Different sports require different forms of energy, some are more explosive such as football, and others are more endurance based with areas of explosiveness. We train you to maximize your energy systems so you have the cardio strength when you need it. If you are tired and can't get to the ball it doesn't matter how hard you hit or how far you can throw it. Don't get tired, get into position and sustain throughout the competition. Energy system development is trained individually and based on your heart rate and estimated VO2 findings.
