Dr. Escamilla is a Professor in the PT Department at Sacramento State. He was the Research Director at the Andrews Research Institute, a 16,000 sq. ft. state‐of‐the‐art facility in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Dr. Escamilla is one of the mostdistinguished biomechanist/researcher in the field of sports medicine. He has over 70 papers published in sports medicine scientific journals. From 1998‐2002 he was professor of orthopedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center and the Director of the Michael W. Krzyzewski Human Performance Laboratory. From 1991‐1996 he was a biomechanics/ researcher at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. He was also the 1993‐1995 National and World Power Lifting Champion.
A graduate from Cal State Northridge (1990), he is the primary PT for the Sacramento Rivercats, Sacramento State Athletics and a consultant for the Oakland A’s. He owns and operates RESULTS Physical Therapy and Training Center. Both Kyle and Rafael worked closely with renowned ortho surgeon James Andrews in Birmingham, AL. Kyle has been an author on several published research articles and book chapters. He has taught several courses in PNF and the shoulder. He has presented at numerous conferences such as ASMI Baseball and Injuries and PBATS conferences.
